Sliding-Stem Series
Flow control, to the millimeter
Cage-guided globe control valve with spring and diaphragm actuator.
- Signal from the loop: The DCS sends a 4–20 mA signal to the PS2 positioner, calling for more flow through the line.
- Air loads the actuator: The positioner meters supply air under the diaphragm, building force against the actuator spring.
- Plug strokes open: The stem lifts the plug off its seat and flow rises; the positioner holds exactly the travel the signal asks for.
- Fails safe: Lose the air supply and the spring drives the plug back onto its seat: fail-closed (DFC). Fail-open (DFO) builds are available too.
