What this site collects, why, and how to ask us to delete it

02What this site collects
There is one form on this site that collects personal information: the quotation request at Request a quote. Nothing else asks you for details about yourself.
When you request a quotation, we receive your name, company, work email address, telephone number and — where you choose to give them — your job title, the product and brand you need, the quantity, the delivery location and date, the service conditions, and your message. You may also attach one document (PDF, DWG, DXF, DOC or DOCX, up to 10 MB), which in practice is usually a drawing, a datasheet or a specification.
The email field in the site footer is not stored. It carries the address you type through to the quotation form so you do not have to type it twice. It does travel in the page address while you are on the form, which means it can appear in server and analytics records of that page view.
Automatically, on every page, our host records the request in order to serve it, and aggregate analytics count the page view. Those analytics set no cookies and do not identify you. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of any kind.
When you submit the quotation form, we also store a one-way digest of your IP address for up to 24 hours, purely to stop the form being used for automated abuse. The digest is salted, so the address itself is not recoverable from what we keep, and it is not used for anything else.
03Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation for you.
- To contact you about that enquiry — the confirmation email you receive, and any reply from our engineers.
- To keep a record of what was quoted, which is an ordinary commercial record of the dealings between our two companies.
- To protect the form from automated abuse, which is the only purpose of the IP digest described above.
04How long we keep it
- Your attachment
- Kept until it is no longer needed for your enquiry, or until you ask us to delete it. We are in the process of applying a fixed retention period to attachments; until it is in force this page will not claim one. You can ask us to delete a document you have sent at any time — see your rights.
- The enquiry itself
- Kept as a commercial record of what you asked for and what we quoted. We do not delete these on a timer, because they are the history of a business relationship — but you can ask us to remove yours.
- Your enquiry also arrives in our sales mailbox, and your attachment travels with it. Mail there is retained under our ordinary business correspondence practice, and a deletion request covers it too.
- The abuse-prevention digest
- Deleted after 24 hours.
When we delete something, we delete it from the systems we run. Copies can survive for a short period in our providers' routine backups before those expire in the ordinary course, and we cannot reach into those to remove an individual record.
05Who else handles it
We use the following services to run this site. Each one is listed with what it does and what actually triggers it — two of them are contacted only if you press something.
- Supabase
- Stores the enquiry record and any file you attach to a quotation request. When you submit the quotation form.
- Resend
- Delivers the enquiry to our sales team and sends your confirmation email. Your attachment travels with the message to our team. When you submit the quotation form.
- Vercel
- Hosts the site and serves every page. Also provides aggregate traffic analytics, which use no cookies and do not identify you. Whenever you open a page.
- Google Maps
- Shows the interactive map of our office on the contact page. Only if you press the button to load the map. Nothing is sent to Google until you do.
- YouTube
- Plays manufacturer product videos on the brand pages. Only if you press play. Videos use youtube-nocookie.com and load nothing until then.
All of these services operate outside Egypt, so using this site involves your information being transferred abroad. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
06How it is protected
The measures built into this site are:
- Every page and form submission is served over HTTPS.
- Attachments are checked before they are accepted — the file extension, the file's actual signature and its stored content type must all agree, and anything a browser might render as a web page is refused.
- Uploaded files are stored under unguessable names and are not linked from any public page.
- The credentials used to reach our database never reach your browser; they exist only on the server.
- The form is rate limited, so it cannot be submitted repeatedly in bulk.
No website can promise perfect security, and we do not. If we ever become aware that enquiry information has been exposed, we will act on it and tell the people affected where we are required to.
07Your rights, and how to ask
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — including any document you have attached to an enquiry.
Write to sales@actsegypt.com with “Data request” in the subject line. Tell us the email address and company name you used, so we can find the right records — those are what our enquiries are indexed by. We will respond as quickly as we can and will tell you what we have done.
If something we hold is wrong or out of date, telling us is the fastest way to have it fixed.
08Changes to this notice
We update this page when what the site does changes. The date at the top of the page is when it was last revised. This version is dated 2 September 2026.
